The Middlebury volleyball program was honored for its hard work in the classroom by the AVCA.
The Middlebury volleyball team earned two American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) honors. The squad was tabbed with the organization's team academic award and named to the honor roll.
The AVCA Team Academic Award honors teams from all three NCAA divisions, NAIA and Junior College and high schools across the country. To be selected, each program must achieve a year-long grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 or better on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. It marks the 20th-consecutive year that Middlebury has received the accolade. Only Central (IA) and Nebraska Wesleyan have longer active streaks with 25 and 21, respectively.
Additionally, the Panthers secured the team honor roll award, given to the top 20 percent of GPAs nationally by division. Middlebury, which earned the honor for the seventh time, was one of five NESCAC schools recognized.
The squad put together an impressive 2024 campaign that included its sixth conference title and a trip to the NCAA Regional Final for the first time since 2011.
