Laber and Wijemanne Tabbed ITA All-Americans

Noah Laber and Thehan Wijemanne garnered All-American praises from the ITA.
Noah Laber and Thehan Wijemanne of the seventh-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team were selected as Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Americans. Laber earned praise individually, while the pair of Laber and Wijemanne received accolades in doubles. 
 
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Laber & Wiejmanne (Doubles)
    • Laber earns All-American honors in doubles for the third time in his career, while Wijemanne tallies laurels for the second-straight season.
    • The duo was selected to compete in the NCAA Doubles Tournament that consisted of 16 teams. 
    • The tandem recorded All-NESCAC awards in doubles, earning a spot on the first team.
    • The pair concluded the year ranked fourth among Division III peers, amassing 17 triumphs with 15 coming during dual action in the top spot.
    • Last fall, the tandem reached the ITA New England Regional Quarterfinal round.
  • Laber (Singles)
    • Laber earns an All-American award for the fourth time in as many seasons, highlighted by three selections in singles.
    • He concluded the season with a team-best 25 wins (25-7), including three in the NCAA Singles Tournament to secure a place in the semifinal match.
    • The Panther rattled off winning streaks of eight and five this year against the opponent's top player, including wins in 11 of his final 13 completed matches.
    • Laber wrapped up the campaign ranked fourth nationally in singles by the ITA and finished his career with a stellar 64-26 record.
    • The senior played in the top spot throughout the spring and landed a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team for the second time.
The Panther pair helped guide Middlebury to a 16-7 overall record and the program's 12th NESCAC Championship. Middlebury made its 22nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the regional final.
