Five Middlebury athletes were honored.
Five members of the Middlebury women's cross country and track and field programs garnered College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District laurels. Macy Daggitt, Audrey MacLean, Bea Parr, Emily Rubio and Zoe Wang were tabbed to the squad.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
Daggitt
- Daggitt graduated in May with a degree in political science and secured her second all-district nod.
- The Panther earned All-NESCAC honors in the long jump, claiming the runner-up spot with a leap of 5.75 meters.
- In the Mideast region, Daggitt was ranked second in the long jump during the indoor campaign (5.58m), while sitting third (5.76m) and fifth (11.81m) outdoors in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.
- The senior claimed five USTFCCCA All-Region accolades and an NCAA First Team All-American nod in the long jump during the 2024 championships.
- Daggitt is a five-time NESCAC All-Academic selection.
MacLean
- MacLean earns her first CSC Academic All-District accolade.
- The Panther excelled during the cross country season, claiming the individual NESCAC crown and was lauded as the league's most outstanding performer with a time of 20:21.15.
- MacLean ran to her second-consecutive First-Team All-America nod at the national invitational, crossing the finish line in sixth at 21:10.8.
- The momentum continued into the winter, as the sophomore secured indoor All-American honors in the 5,000 (16:58.25).
- MacLean closed her second season at Middlebury with two All-American nods outdoors at the NCAA Championships, claiming runner-up honors in the 3,000 steeplechase (10:23.59) and eighth in the 5,000 (16:42.81).
- The Panther claimed four USTFCCCA All-Region honors across both sports and set program records in the 3,000 steeplechase (10:21.15) and 5,000 (16:36.94).
Parr
- Parr walked the stage in May, earning a degree in mathematics and architectural studies.
- During her final cross country campaign, she secured All-NESCAC Second Team and USTFCCCA All-Region honors before claiming a top-100 effort at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
- At the NCAA Championships, Parr ran the final leg of the Panthers' distance medley relay (DMR), crossing the finish line in seventh with a time of 11:50.37 to garner her first All-American honor.
- The Panther claimed top-15 placings in the Mideast region individually in the outdoor 5,000 (eighth - 17:11.93) and 1,500 (13th - 4:36.92) and the indoor 5,000 (13th - 17:50.39).
Rubio
- Rubio is majoring in neuroscience and tallies her initial all-district laurel.
- The junior earned All-American in the pentathlon during the indoor championships, finishing seventh with a school-record 3,603 points.
- Rubio represented the navy and white outdoors in the high jump at the NCAA Championships, clearing a height of 1.60m.
- The Panther claimed All-NESCAC honors in the 100 hurdles, crossing the finish line in third at 14.85 seconds.Â
- She was a part of five all-region honors.
- Alongside her pentathlon record, the junior reset the heptathlon mark at the FIRE Invitational hosted by Williams, racking up 4,576 points.
- Off the track, Rubio is a care assistant volunteer at Porter Medical Hospital and a member of the Women in Health Sciences and Middlebury First Responders Clubs.
Wang
- Wang secures her first CSC Academic All-District accolade after earning a degree in Japanese and sociology in May.
- The senior earned her first berth to the NCAA Championships this spring.
- Wang grabbed her second all-conference honor after finishing third in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.65m.
- Alongside all-region honors in the event, the senior reset the program record during the indoor (3.77m) and outdoor (3.83m) campaigns.
