Panthers Lauded With CSC Academic All-District Honors

Five Panthers earned the distinction.
Five Panthers have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large squads. Teddy Curran, Logan Moore, William Munroe, Bradshaw Underhill and Nicholas Unkovskoy each earned the accolade.
 
ABOUT THE HONOREES
  • Curran (lacrosse)
    • Graduating with a degree in economics, Curran earns all-district praise for the second-consecutive year.
    • The defender was tabbed a USILA Honorable Mention All-American, a NEILA Honorable Mention All-Region honoree and an All-NESCAC Second Team selection.
    • The senior capped his career second in the program record books with 81 caused turnovers, while ranking second on the squad this season with 16.
    • Curran is a three-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree.
  • Moore (nordic)
    • A chemistry and psychology major, Moore secures CSC laurels for the first time.
    • The Panther finished fifth in the 20K freestyle at the NCAA Championships to garner All-American recognition. This was the best placing of a Middlebury nordic skier in over a decade.
    • Moore had eight podium appearances over the season and garnered EISA First-Team All-East praise.
    • Qualifying for the NCAA Championship in each of his four years, Moore was also a three-time NESCAC All-Academic selection.
  • Munroe (lacrosse)
    • A molecular biology and biochemistry major, Munroe earns his initial all-district praise.
    • The senior capped his time in the navy and white as the program's career leader in faceoff victories (818) and groundballs (422).
    • Munroe led the team this spring at the X with 210 wins and scooping up 109 rollers.
    • The Panther is a three-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree. 
  • Underhill (alpine and golf)
    • Earning the honor for the first time, Underhill graduated with a degree in physics.
    • The Panther had a phenomenal senior campaign, placing fourth in the giant slalom (GS) and sixth in the slalom at the NCAA Championships to earn All-American accolades in both events.
    • Underhill was the EISA Bib Leader in both disciplines, tallying seven victories during the Carnival season.
    • The skier earned NESCAC All-Academic on three occasions and was a three-time EISA All-East First Team honoree.
    • On the links, Underhill earned All-NESCAC Second Team praise this year.
    • He earned Middlebury's A. Bayard Russ '66 Memorial Athletic Award for someone who is outstanding in two sports. 
  • Unkovskoy (alpine)
    • In his first year of eligibility, Unkovskoy landed a spot on the all-district team, as well as the NESCAC All-Academic squad. 
    • The Panther is an economics major and qualified for the NCAA Championships, placing 13th in the GS and 24th in the slalom.
    • Unkovskoy was lauded with EISA All-East Second Team accolades after securing a podium spot three times over the season.
In order to be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District distinction, an athlete must be a sophomore athletically or higher, hold a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or higher, have been enrolled at the institution for at least one calendar year and be a starter or key reserve on their team.
