Middlebury Student-Athletes Elected Into Phi Beta Kappa

Eighteen student-athletes were elected into Middlebury's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Middlebury elected its chapter of Phi Beta Kappa during a ceremony held this past weekend with 18 student-athletes earning their places on the list. 
 
HONOREES ABOUT MIDDLEBURY'S CHAPTER
  • Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest honors society for the liberal arts in the nation. 
  • Middlebury's chapter can elect up to 10 percent of the senior class each year.
  • Phi Beta Kappa's most identifiable symbol is the key, which is an important piece of the society, developed in its early days. Middlebury owns one of the oldest keys still in existence, which belonged to the first president Jeremiah Atwater.
