Shue becomes the second women's lacrosse across all divisions to earn the academic award three times.
Hope Shue of the #2 Middlebury women's lacrosse team has been lauded with the prestigious NCAA Elite 90 Award for the third time in her career.
ABOUT THE AWARD
- The award recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in their sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers.
- The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) participating at the site of the finals for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- A neuroscience major, Shue owns a 4.00 grade point average.
- This marks the first time that a Division III women's player has earned the laurel three times, as Shue was lauded with the accolade in 2023 and 2024.
- The senior is the only Panther to earn the award more than once.
- Shue became the first person to earn NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year twice after the conference split the award into offensive and defensive categories.
- She secured a spot on the IWLCA All-Region First Team for the fourth consecutive season, while garnering All-NESCAC accolades for the fourth time.
- During the NCAA Quarterfinal, Shue tallied five goals and three assists to become the program's single-season point leader with 107.
- Her point total and 76 markers pace the squad, while her 31 helpers are second and 67 draws are tied for second.
- Shue owns program records in career goals (296) and points (379).
