The Middlebury men's track and field team began competition at the NCAA Championship on the opening day, highlighted by Xander Swann competing in the 400-meter hurdles. The three-day event is taking place at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Swann posted the second quickest time in the 22-competitor field. 
• The Panther clocked in with a time of 52.22 seconds to earn a spot in the finals.

Swann competes for a national title on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. following Dave Filias in the hammer throw at 1:45 p.m.
