The #25 Middlebury women's golf team concluded its historic season on Friday, finishing in a tie for sixth place during the four-day NCAA Championships. The showing by the Panthers surpasses the eighth-place efforts during the 2007 and 2009 national invitationals. Second-ranked Emory claimed the team title with a total of 1,168 strokes, while #1 Carnegie Mellon was the runner-up (1,181) and #5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps rounded out the top-three teams (1,195). Middlebury finished with a combined total of 1,208.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Audrey Tir ended her week in a tie for 12th place overall. She posted a 79 during Friday's round, highlighted by birdies on the third and ninth for a 296 over 72 holes.
- On Friday, Ella Han carded a 79, highlighted by a birdie on the par-five third. The Panther finished three strokes behind Tir in 22nd place with a carding of 299.
- During the final round, Morgan Lee tallied a three-over par effort of 75. She wrapped up her scoring in the tournament in a multi-way tie for 23rd place.
- Mia Politano was the fourth competitor for Middlebury on Friday, securing an 80 with a birdie on the par-three fifth hole to finish with a 317.
- Rounding out the group was Elizabeth Whalen, who carded an 81 to wrap up her tournament with a total score of 324.
NOTES
- Tir, Han and Lee each fired four rounds in the 70s during the championship. Tir posted efforts of 70, 74, 73 and 79, while Han manufactured rounds of 71, 76, 73 and 79. Lee carded scores of 76, 76, 73 and 75.
- Politano's 74 in the second round was a career-low effort.
- During the opening 18, Tir matched her best score in a Panther uniform with a 70.
- The 1,208 strokes posted by the Panthers is the lowest total in program history during the NCAA Championships. That mark eclipses the previous low of 1,311 in 2009.
- Middlebury made its fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first since 2013.Â
The Panthers claimed their initial NESCAC Championship in program history and finished the season in a tie for sixth place on the national stage.Â
