Nina Farhat, Claudia Miller, Sahana Raman and Nathalie van der Reis of the #3 Middlebury women's tennis team have earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District accolades.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Farhat
- Farhat earns the accolade for the first time in her career.
- She is majoring in molecular biology and biochemistry.
- The Panther tallied a 29-4 mark in doubles action, including a 17-2 mark in the top slot this spring to garner All-NESCAC First Team Doubles praise.
- Farhat, along with Raman, is the top-ranked duo in Division III and was selected to compete in the NCAA Doubles bracket later this month.
- Farhat played primarily at #6 singles throughout the spring, amassing a 24-3 record and 45 career victories.
- Miller
- An international policies and economics major, Miller secures her initial academic all-district accolade.
- She posted a 28-6 doubles record this year, highlighted by a 16-3 mark in the second position during spring action.
- Miller and her partner Elsie Van Wieren were ranked ninth nationally on the latest ITA Division III rankings and earned All-NESCAC Second Team Doubles honors.
- The Panther secured 15 individual triumphs, including six at #3 in dual competition.
- Raman
- Raman tallies her second-straight honor from the organization.
- The neuroscience major earned All-NESCAC First Team Doubles honors alongside Farhat.
- Raman played in the top spot of the lineup this season and ranks seventh in Division III.
- She tied for team-high honors with 24 wins this year (24-4), including a 13-3 showing this spring.
- Raman will compete in the NCAA Individual Tournament and is riding a 10-match unbeaten streak.
- She owns an 84-29 career mark in singles play, including two seasons with 20 or more triumphs. The 84 victories are believed to be a program record.
- Van der Reis
- An economics major, van der Reis earns her first academic all-district honor.
- The senior was half of a doubles team that went 14-3 in the third slot during the spring campaign.
- She concluded the season as one of six Middlebury players with a double-digit win total in singles, going 12-3 overall with an 8-2 mark at #5.
- As an individual, van der Reis tallied a 43-13 record for her career.
