Sabrina Kim and
Cece Ziegler of the #4 Middlebury women's ice hockey team were named to the New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA) Division III All-Star Team for their performances on the ice this season. The trio of seniors capped their careers helping guide the program to an overall record of 83-22-8, two NESCAC Championships and the 2022 NCAA Championship with the first undefeated season in NCAA Division III history (27-0-0).

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Appleyard
- Appleyard earned the NEHWA All-Star award for the first time in her career.Â
- Earlier this season, the forward was honored as an All-NESCAC First-Team selection.Â
- She played in all 29 contests, tying for the team lead with 11 goals. Appleyard tallied four assists, including one in the NCAA Semifinal contest against Amherst.
- The Panther had at least one point in 12 games this season, highlighted by a three-point effort (1G, 2A) against Suffolk on February 2.
- During her career, Appleyard accumulated 37 goals and 29 assists while skating in all 113 contests with 10 game-winning tallies.
- Kim
- Kim secured her initial NEHWA All-Star laurel.Â
- The defender earned AHCA/CCM All-American East First-Team and All-NESCAC First-Team honors for the initial time this season.
- The Panther paced the league in assists (20) and was tied for second in plus/minus (+22) while ranking 18th in the country with 0.69 helpers per game.
- The blueliner was fourth in the NESCAC with 22 points and was second on the team with 31 blocked shots.
- The senior tallied five multi-point performances this year.Â
- Kim played in all 113 games that Middlebury has competed in over her four years, tallying 71 career points (8G, 63A).
- Ziegler
- Ziegler picked up her first NEHWA All-Star accolade.Â
- She received her first All-NESCAC award with a second-team nod.
- Suiting up in every contest this season (29), the defender sat atop the team ranks and was second among league peers in blocked shots with 55.
- Offensively, she contributed three goals and nine assists, including the game-winning tally against Amherst on January 18. She also posted Middlebury's goal in the NCAA Semifinal game.
- Ziegler saw ice time in 109 games in the blue and white uniform, concluding her career with six tallies, 36 helpers and 119 blocked shots.
