Thomas Perry Invited To Baltimore Ravens Rookie Minicamp

Perry in action against Colby this fall.
Senior offensive lineman Thomas Perry of the Middlebury football team has been invited to the Baltimore Ravens' Rookie Mini Camp.

"I am so thankful to the Ravens for this opportunity," said Perry. "I am excited to compete at the highest level and continue pursuing my dream of playing in the NFL."

The Panther gained national attention during the summer heading into his senior season while training with Duke Manyweather at OL Masterminds in Texas. Perry went on to post an impressive final campaign in the navy and white, earning a trio of All-American honors and his third-consecutive All-NESCAC First Team nod.

"Thomas is a special student-athlete whose work ethic and focus give him the opportunity to play in the NFL," said head coach Doug Mandigo '96. "The Middlebury football family is very proud of Thomas and we are excited to see him take his game to the ultimate level."

The offensive lineman became the only Middlebury player to be invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl. Perry assumed the role of center during the bowl game with only three weeks of training under his belt and helped lead the East squad to a 25-0 victory. He was also one of two Division III players tabbed to the prestigious Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List last fall. Perry competed at the University of Connecticut's Pro Day in April.

"Thomas set the standard and pace of our training during our predraft program," said Manyweather. "He is so consistently himself, and confident in his work, which became contagious and spread confidence amongst the other guys in the program. Whatever organization lands Thomas Perry isn't just getting a player—they're getting a rare individual with unlimited potential. His ceiling has yet to be touched, and his future is incredibly bright."

In the classroom, Perry sports a 3.92 grade point average as a molecular biology and biochemistry major. He earned his second-consecutive College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America laurel this year and has been tabbed to the NESCAC All-Academic team in all three years he has been eligible. He plans to attend medical school following a professional football career.

One of four brothers born into a football family, Perry grew up watching his cousin, John Moffit, play in the NFL. Moffit is a 2011 graduate of the University of Wisconsin who played offensive line and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Perry's dad, uncle, and three cousins played football at Brown University.

The Ravens' minicamp is set to begin on Saturday, May 3.
