Henry Harrison collected four birdies on Friday, firing a one-over 72.
The Middlebury men's golf team sits in sixth place after one day of action at the NESCAC Championship. Hamilton leads the way with a score of 290, while Amherst (292) and Trinity (294) complete the top three. The Panthers recorded a 302 during the opening round.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Henry Harrison sits in a seven-way tie for fifth place, shooting a one-over-par 72. The Panther tallied a team-best four birdies on the day.
- Next for Middlebury is Brendan Maykel, one of five players to card a 75 on the round for a share of 16th. Maykel concluded his day with a birdie on the par-five 18th.
- Charlie Schulman bookended his round in style, recording an eagle on the first hole and a birdie on the final hole for a score of 77. The Panther is currently in a tie for 28th place.
- One stroke back in a tie for 31st is Paul Fine-Lease, who fired a trio of birdies, including a pair on the back nine for a 78.
- Rounding out the current scorers for the Panthers is Bradshaw Underhill, tied for 43rd with an 81.
NOTES
- Schulman's eagle on the first hole was one of just three posted throughout the entire opening round.
- Middlebury is seeking its 11th NESCAC Title and third in the last five seasons.
- This year, the NESCAC Men's Golf Championship has expanded to a three-day 54-hole stroke play event. Previous championships have been 36-hole events.
The teams return to action on Saturday for the second day of the competition beginning at 9:00 a.m.
