Wagner finished in 16th place.
The Middlebury women's nordic ski team had all three Panthers place in the top-20 spots on the second day of the NCAA Championships. The trio tallied 48 points, boosting Middlebury two spots to seventh in the standings.
Dartmouth dominated on its home course, claiming both the men's and women's disciplines to vault the squad into first place with 267.5 points. Colorado (262 points) and Utah (257 points) dropped one spot each in the tight top-three.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The women began the day with the 7.5K classic individual start. Shea Brams led the way for the Panthers, placing 11th with a clocking of 25:11.4.
- Maggie Wagner finished with a time of 25:29.6 for 16th overall.
- In her NCAA debut, Sofia Scirica was two spots behind Wagner, clocking in at 25:36.8.
- On the men's side, Mason Wheeler led the way with an 18th-place performance (23:02.7).
- Jack Christner finished in 25th with a time of 23:39.5, while Logan Moore was 30th in 23:45.1.
NOTES
- The alpine team began the event on Wednesday, finishing with 52 points. The day was highlighted by Bradshaw Underhill's sixth-place performance in the slalom.
- The women's nordic team's fifth-place finish is the best through four events.
- The program is making its 65th appearance on the national stage, having competed at the event every year since 1967.
The alpine squad is back on the slopes on Friday morning for the giant slalom, with the first run beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Dartmouth Skiway. The championship concludes with the 20K freestyle mass start at the Oak Hill Outdoor Center on Saturday. The men go first at 10:00 a.m., followed by the women at noon.
