The 12th-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision on Saturday afternoon at #3 Tufts.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• The Jumbos raced out to take the doubles point with a 6-1 win at #3 and a 6-3 triumph in the top spot.
• Tufts gained a 3-0 advantage behind straight-set triumphs at #1 (6-1, 6-4) and #6 (6-3, 6-0).
• Julian Wu pulled the Panthers within a pair (3-1) in the second slot. He edged Javier Gonzalez 6-4 in the opening set before cruising in the second frame 6-1.
• The Jumbos regained the momentum, earning straight-set victories at #3, #5 and #4 to secure the 6-1 decision.

NOTES

• Wu's victory was his third-consecutive win as an individual. He has produced an unblemished 3-0 mark this season against NESCAC opponents.
• The programs squared off for the 38th time.

Middlebury concludes its league weekend road trip on Sunday against Bates at 2:00 p.m.
