Middlebury has named Olivia Leavitt as the next head women's tennis coach after serving in an interim role since September 3, 2024.

"We are thrilled to have Olivia lead our program," said Director of Athletics Erin Quinn '86. "Olivia is an excellent coach and teacher who connects with each of her players and brings those players together with a strong commitment to a healthy team culture. We look forward to working with her to continue to build on the tradition of excellence associated with Middlebury women's tennis."

Leavitt has started the spring season in impressive fashion, leading the team to a 6-2 mark thus far. The Panthers rattled off four-straight wins to begin the campaign. The lone losses were tightly-contested matches at #4 Pomona-Pitzer and #2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

"I want to thank Erin and the entire Middlebury Athletics Department for their unwavering support of my efforts through the beginning of this year, as well as, the confidence they have placed in me looking to the future of Middlebury women's tennis," said Leavitt. "It has been an honor to work with the incredible students on this team, and I look forward to building on our early momentum this season and carrying it forward to achieve our goals for the program."

Prior to her time at Middlebury, Leavitt served as the head women's tennis coach at Lehigh University for two years. She spent three seasons as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs at Babson (2019-20) and Colgate (2020-22).

Leavitt graduated from Brandeis in 2019 with a bachelor's degree. During her time with the Judges, she claimed 44 singles and 52 doubles victories. Leavitt was a three-time All-University Athletic Association honoree in doubles and earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete status three times. She recently earned her master's degree in sport management and athlete development from the University of Florida in 2024.
