#22 Women’s Swimming & Diving Wraps Up Competition at NCAA Championships

Chloe Katz took part in the 1650 freestyle.

The #22 Middlebury women's swimming and diving team wrapped up competition at the NCAA Championships on Saturday. The team had six individuals participating in the four-day action contest at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in North Carolina.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The 400-yard free relay comprised of Anna McGrew, Chloe Bautista, Lauren Jolley and Hannah Baumgartner lowered their seeded time by 0.32 seconds, clocking in at 3:29.34. That time was 20th-fastest in the morning swims.
  • Competing in her final NCAA Championships, Chloe Katz earned 20th in the 1,650 freestyle.
  • McGrew swam in her final individual event, representing the Panthers in the 100 free. She claimed a share of 29th in the preliminary swim with a time of 51.18 seconds.

NOTES 

  • McGrew tallied the lone All-American nod for the Panthers, claiming 10th in the 50 free with a clocking of 23.08 seconds. That mark also set the program record in the event by 0.33.
  • Katz closes her Middlebury career with three NCAA Championships appearances and two All-American accolades.

Middlebury finished 32nd in the team standings with seven points. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) claimed the team championship with 497 points, followed by New York University (NYU) (470) and Kenyon (438).
