The Middlebury baseball team battled back to tie Wednesday's game against Redlands at 6-6, but the Bulldogs walked it off with a run in the bottom of the ninth inning for a 7-6 triumph.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Panthers took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning. Brian Olson drew a one-out walk, moved up on a single from Joe Basso and advanced when Carter Chi was hit by a pitch. Olson later scored on a sacrifice fly by Aiden Han.
- Redlands tallied three in the bottom of the frame, as Ian Umscheid doubled and touched home on a wild pitch, while Gabriel Ceja ripped an RBI single and Rylan Morris lifted a sacrifice fly for a 3-1 advantage.
- Middlebury leveled the contest with a pair of runs in the fourth. Anthony Pellagrini singled and later scored on a Bulldog throwing error, while Basso laced a base hit to right and raced home on a triple by Chi.
- The hosts answered with three scores in their next at-bat, highlighted by a run-scoring triple down the right-field line from Luke De Vries for a 6-3 edge.
- The Panthers drew even in the sixth with a trio of tallies. Basso walked, Chi was hit by a pitch and Han drew a base on balls with one out to load the bases. Nathan Samii drove in Basso on an RBI groundout, Owen Fox followed with a run-scoring single up the middle and Samii darted home on a wild pitch to knot the game.
- Tied at 6-6 in the bottom of the ninth, Ceja singled to left with one out and Luke Hanson was inserted as a pinch runner. Hanson moved to second on a wild pitch and tallied the game-winning run on a single to left from De Vries for the final 7-6 tally.
NOTES
- The programs played for the second time and the first since 2018.
The Panthers have a day off before opening a three-game series at Chapman. The first pitch of Friday's single game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET.
