McGrew set her second school record during her rookie campaign.
Anna McGrew made a splash in her debut on the national stage, breaking the school record in the 50-yard freestyle to pace the #22 Middlebury women's swimming and diving team. The Panthers competed in a trio of events on the opening day of the NCAA Championships.

HIGHLIGHTS
- McGrew finished in 12th place in the morning's preliminary session, touching the wall in 23.19 seconds. During the evening's consolation final, McGrew bettered her school-record time, placing 10th with a clocking of 23.08 seconds. The time was the eighth-fastest in the night session.Â
- The 400 medley relay squad comprised of Maddy Reid, Emma Hall, Chloe Bautista and McGrew finished in 19th with a clocking of 3:49.41.
- Chloe Katz competed in her first of three individual events, placing 37th in the 500 free with a time of 5:04.59.Â
NOTES
- The previous school mark in the 50 free was 23.41 seconds set in 2018 by Francis VanderMeer '20.
- McGrew now holds a pair of program marks, having lowered the 100 free time of 50.89 seconds at the NESCAC Championship.Â
Middlebury is back on the deck Thursday morning, with Katz competing in the 400 individual medley and the 200 free relay.
