The Panthers landed four on the EISA All-Region teams.
Four members of the Middlebury alpine skiing team tallied honors from the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA).
Bradshaw Underhill was tabbed the Slalom and Giant Slalom (GS) Bib Leader, while
Kjersti Moritz earned EISA Rookie of the Year and head coach
Stever Bartlett was named EISA Alpine Coach of the Year. Garnering a spot on the all-region second team was
Nicholas Unkovskoy.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Underhill (First Team, Slalom and Giant Slalom Bib Leader)
- Underhill earns the third first-team accolade of his career.
- The Panther garnered 286 points to secure the GS Bib Leader while tallying 226 to earn the Slalom Bib Leader.
- Underhill has had a stellar campaign, taking home four GS and three slalom titles.
- The senior has finished outside the top five just once in an eighth-place effort in the slalom during the Bates Carnival.
- Moritz (Rookie of the Year & Second Team)
- Moritz burst onto the season in her first season for the Panthers, tallying 182 points.
- The Panther finished in the top-five places in all four disciplines she has competed.
- The rookie had a career weekend at the Middlebury Carnival, earning her first victory in the GS and a runner-up position in the slalom.Â
- Her performance during that carnival earned her EISA Female Alpine Skier of the Week.
- Unkovskoy (Second Team)
- Earning a spot on the second team for the first time in his career is Unkovskoy.
- The Panther has finished in the top-10 spots in seven events this season.Â
- Unkovskoy helped Middlebury to a 1-2 finish in the giant slalom at the Middlebury Carnival alongside Underhill. He also earned his first EISA Male Alpine Skier of the Week honor.
- Bartlett (Coach of the Year)
- Bartlett earns his second EISA Alpine Coach of the Year nod.
- Under Bartlett's watch, the Panthers have placed inside the top three in 14 of the 24 disciplines this winter.
- Middlebury has tallied seven individual alpine discipline victories this season.
Middlebury awaits its fate in the NCAA Championships when the field is announced Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
