McNamara and Shen earn All-NESCAC honors for the first time.
Luke McNamara and Paul Shen of the Middlebury men's swimming and diving team have earned All-NESCAC accolades following their performances at the conference championship meet hosted by the Panthers. Competitors who claim the top-three spots individually or as part of a relay squad earn the honor.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- McNamara garnered All-NESCAC honors for the first time in his career. The Panther claimed second overall in the 200-yard individual medley (IM) with a time of 1:50.31. His swim broke a 28-year-old program record.
- Shen earned conference laurels in the 200 breaststroke, clocking a 2:01.09 to finish as the runner-up. His preliminary time (1:59.89) broke the program time of 2:01.87 from 2015.Â
- Over the four-day event, the Panthers claimed five program records and clocked multiple NCAA 'B' cut times.
The Panthers learn their NCAA Championship fate when the field is announced on February 26.
