Katz’s Podium Finish Highlights Day Three of NESCAC Championship

Grace Brady placed ninth in the 400-yard IM.
The Middlebury women's swimming and diving team sits in fifth place with one day to go at the NESCAC Championship. Williams leads the field with 1,349 points, followed closely by Tufts (1,341.5). 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Kicking off the night session was the 200-yard medley relay. Maddy Reid, Emma Hall, Lauren Jolley and Anna McGrew combined for a fourth-place NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:44.04. 
  • Chloe Katz earned All-NESCAC honors in the 1,000 freestyle, touching the wall in 10:08.46 to earn third place. Molly Nordquist was 12th in the event with the time of 10:38.50.
  • In the consolation final of the 100 butterfly, Chloe Bautista was second, clocking in at 56.87 seconds to earn 10th overall. 
  • Leading the consolation final to the wall in the 400 individual medley was Grace Brady. The Panther clocked in at 4:31.69 to finish in ninth place. Miranda Moser also earned a spot in the same heat, recording a time of 4:41.26 for 16th place.
  • In the 200 free, Hannah Baumgartner secured a 14th-place showing with a time of 1:54.60.
  • Emma Hall bettered her preliminary time in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall at 1:05.63, good for 13th.
  • The 100 back featured a quick finals' heat, with six of eight securing NCAA 'B' cut times. Reid finished in eighth overall, touching the wall in 57.19 seconds.
  • Pai Easterbrook and Campbell Miller each tallied points for Middlebury off the 3-meter board. Easterbrook finished in 12th with a score of 325.85, and Miller was 17th (273.25 points).
NOTES
  • This marks the third time Katz has landed on the podium in the 1,000 free at the NESCAC Championship meet.  
The Panthers close out the championship on Sunday with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m., followed by the finals at 5:30 p.m.
