#1 Women’s Ice Hockey Blanks Williams 7-0 On Senior Night

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers looked to get on the board at the 10:35 mark of the first period. An initial shot by Britt Nawrocki from the left faceoff dot was stopped by Eph netminder Erin Pye, but Hower grabbed the rebound six seconds later and flipped it over Pye's shoulder for the 1-0 lead.
  • Olivia McManus collected the puck off a faceoff win and ripped a shot through traffic from the point that went through Pye's legs to double the advantage 2-0 at the 8:08 mark.
  • The visitor's best opportunity came when Quinn Dawson fired a bid from between the circles that Merageas saved point blank with 4:44 left.
  • Middlebury continued to increase its lead with 2:19 remaining in the period. Liv Fernandez fired a shot toward the net that Nawrocki tipped over Pye's right shoulder for a 3-0 advantage.
  • With 46 ticks off the clock in the second stanza, Skyler Moore raced down the ice and ripped an attempt from the right faceoff dot but Merageas smothered the chance.
