Select member of the Middlebury men's track and field team competed at the Panther Invitational II hosted by Plymouth State. During Saturday's meet, Middlebury won an event and had numerous top-10 finishes to earn sixth overall.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Xander Swann won the 400-meter with a time of 49.56 seconds. Emerson Kington also garnered a podium spot, racing to third (50.52). Three other Panthers competed in the event with Hayden Bobowick (52.42), Nate Gardner (52.94), and Donnell Harvey Jr. (55.77) claiming 10th, 11th and 21st respectively.
• Middlebury also tallied a runner-up spot from Sebastian Pantzer in the 200, who clocked a  22.84. Joey Caspar was sixth in the event (23.28), Hayden Bobowick was 11th (23.48), Sam Opawuyi finished 36th (25.18) and Tony Wang was 41st in 25.44.
• In the men's shot put, Logan Cosgrove recorded a mark of 13.77m on his third throw to claim second. Andreas Panagos (11.94m) and Ben Martin (11.51) also finished in the top 15.
• Caleb Smith finished in third place in the long jump with a mark of 6.61m. Jed Nelson was right behind in sixth place (6.36m) and Wang was 12th (6.01m).
• The Panther's final top-three finish came from Finn Albright in the 60 hurdles (8.68), bettering his time of 8.88 in the preliminaries.
• Andreas Panagos earned 21st in the weight throw, heaving the implement to a distance of 10.51m.

NOTES

• Swann's victory was his second this winter after claiming the 400 during the season-opening Middlebury Snowflake Invitational.
• Albright's time in the 60 hurdles narrowly missed his collegiate-best mark by .01 seconds. 

The Panthers return to competition on Saturday when they host the Middlebury Field & Track Meet beginning at 11:30 a.m.
