Thornton garners All-American honors for the first time.
Owen Thornton of the Middlebury football team has been announced as a member of the 2025 Associated Press (AP) Division III All-America Third Team at long snapper. He is one of three NESCAC athletes to earn the honor.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Thornton earns his first All-American nod as a Panther.
- For his efforts on the Middlebury punt team, the senior was also selected to the D3football.com All-Region 1 and All-NESCAC First Teams.
- The captain contributed on the defensive side, recording 25 tackles, one sack and one interception at linebacker.
- Thornton posted a season-high five tackles in the season opener at Wesleyan.
- He hauled in his second interception with the navy and white against Trinity on October 18.
- The Panther concludes his career with 59 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries while appearing in all 36 games during his four-year tenure.
Thornton becomes the 28th All-American in program history and the first to garner the honor by AP since 2000. A full list of honorees can be found
