Benjamin Hughes of the 22nd-ranked Middlebury men's cross country team has earned All-NESCAC Second Team honors based on his finish at the conference championship hosted by Connecticut College last weekend.

HUGHES' HIGHLIGHTS

• Hughes kicked into high gear in the final split of the 8K race, passing seven runners to rise from 19th to 12th place overall. 
• The Panther was the squad's highest finisher for the second-consecutive season after earning fifth a season ago.
• Hughes' achievement is the second all-conference nod of his Middlebury career after securing first-team accolades last fall.
• The junior has been the highest Panther finisher in all six invitationals, including sweeping the Silloway Maple Syrup Challenge and Aldrich Invitational.

Hughes and his teammates are idle this weekend before returning to competition for the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships hosted by St. Lawrence on Saturday, November 8 at 12:15 p.m.
