The Middlebury women’s squash team begins its 2025-26 slate on Saturday, November 15 against Cornell. Nine student-athletes return from last season’s squad with three first-year players entering the fold. The Panthers posted double-digit triumphs for the third consecutive campaign in 2024-25, claiming fourth in the Kurtz Cup and finishing 16th in the nation.

Senior captains Lindsey Burnham, Izzy Ronda and Abbie Peterson headline the returning group. Burnham won eight matches at the top of the ladder en route to becoming the third Panther to earn All-NESCAC First-Team praise on three occasions. Izzy Ronda nabbed six wins across her initial seven matches from the #5 slot and added a pair in the sixth, while Peterson went 8-2 across her first 10 matches.

Aanvi Anand had a solid rookie campaign, winning nine of her first 11 matches and earning the second-most wins on the team (11). Lucy Ronda accumulated four of her five triumphs in the #8 spot while Caroline Didden earned a trio of wins and went 4-0 in exhibition play. Mariana Reedich, who led the squad with 14 victories a season ago, will rejoin the team in the spring after studying abroad.

Lewis begins his 11th season as the John R. Illig Head Coach of Squash and comes in four wins shy of 100 with the women’s program and nine wins shy of 200 combined at Middlebury. Teddy Best ‘22, who played under Lewis for four seasons, returns as the program’s first full-time assistant coach after being a volunteer in 2024-25.
