Sixth-Seeded Volleyball Travels to Williams for NESCAC Quarterfinals

The 2024 NESCAC Champion Middlebury volleyball team has earned the sixth seed in the upcoming conference tournament. The Panthers travel to third-seeded Williams on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. start.

ABOUT MIDDLEBURY
  • Middlebury is one of four institutions (Amherst, Tufts & Williams) to appear in each NESCAC Tournament since the first edition in 1999.
  • The Panthers enter the bracket as the defending conference champions and have hoisted the league hardware on six occasions.
  • Middlebury's six league titles are the second-most in the conference, trailing only Williams.
PANTHERS TO WATCH
  • Recently becoming the Panthers' seventh player to eclipse 1,000 career kills, Molly Harrison sits atop the NESCAC ranks with 286 kills this season. The Panther ranks second in the league in kills per set (3.36), points per set (3.84) and total points (326).  Harrison is one of just two Middlebury players to start all 24 contests, while appearing in each of the team's 85 sets played.
  • Campbell Bartley paces the league in assists (819) and helpers per set (9.64). The setter has dished out 30 or more assists in 17 contests, including eight outings with at least 40 helpers. Bartley joins Harrison with 24 matches started and 85 sets played.
  • Libero Annabella Rando ranks second in the NESCAC with 366 total digs, averaging 4.31 per set to sit third. She dug out a career-high 35 balls in a five-set battle against Bowdoin on November 9.
  • Gabby Pribisich (60) and Ava Tuccio (57) have maintained their presence at the net, combining for 117 total blocks. Pribisich also ranks second on the squad with 2.20 kills per set.
  • Rando and Campbell Keller have headlined efforts from the service line. Rando's team-high 42 service aces holds fourth in the conference, while Keller touts 35 aces to land inside the top-15.
ABOUT WILLIAMS
  • The Ephs join Middlebury as one of four teams to have appeared in every NESCAC Tournament.
  • Williams has claimed 11 league titles, the most of any NESCAC program.
  • The Ephs pursue their first conference crown since 2014.
  • Williams holds the top-three spots in blocks per set (2.23) and opponent kills per set (10.49).
EPHS TO WATCH
  • Keely Campuzano serves as the Ephs' top scoring threat with 230 total kills while ranking ninth in the league at 2.80 kills per set. She posted a season-high 19 kills in the first meeting with Middlebury on September 27.
  • The primary setter for Williams is Morgan Daetz who leads her team with 479 helpers. Her rate of 5.32 assists per frame slots ninth in the NESCAC.
  • Eve Kaplan has handled libero duties for the Ephs, posting 3.64 digs per session and 328 on the season. Her total stands as the fourth-highest in the league.
  • The hosts have four players with 50 or more total blocks this season, headlined by Lilly Fox. The sophomore's clip of 1.06 blocks per set stands as the seventh most of any NESCAC player.
  • Kaplan leads the team with 38 service aces this season. Kate Lane holds the best average in the conference at 0.57 aces per set.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The programs square off for the 60th time in the all-time series.
  • The Panthers hold a narrow 10-8 edge in the last 18 contests.
  • Williams owns a 6-1 edge over Middlebury in the NESCAC Tournament series. The Panthers outlasted the Ephs in a five-set regular-season bout on September 27.
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION Quarterfinals will take place at the top-four seeds on Saturday, November 8. The highest remaining seed will host the semifinals (Friday, November 14) and championship (Saturday, November 15).
