Middlebury forward Trinity Walsh of the #4 Panther women's ice hockey team has secured NESCAC Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career. The rookie was a key piece in helping the squad to a 3-0-0 week.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- In Tuesday's 6-0 victory over in-state rival Vermont State University Castleton, Walsh scored the game-winning goal and assisted on two other Panther tallies.
- The Panther continued her hot start in the initial game of a weekend series against Wesleyan with two markers in a 4-1 triumph over the Cardinals.
- Walsh closed the three-game slate in style, scoring the contest-clinching goal 56 seconds into overtime to seal a 3-2 victory.
- Through five games, the Panther is tied for the team and conference lead with five helpers.
Walsh and the Panthers return to home ice this weekend for the Panther/Cardinal Classic. Middlebury entertains #9 Endicott on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., with the winner advancing to Sunday's championship game against either #1 University of Wisconsin-River Falls or #6 Plattsburgh State.
