#16 Women’s Squash Breezes by #19 Wesleyan to Cap 2025 Slate

Aanvi Anand prevailed over her sister, Wesleyan's Aanya Anand, in a four-set battle during a 9-0 Middlebury win on Saturday.
The 16th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team posted a 9-0 victory over 19th-ranked Wesleyan on Saturday at the Bostwick Family Squash Center.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Seven of the nine Middlebury points were tallied via the sweep. Lindsey Burnham earned an 11-6, 11-2, 11-6 decision in the top spot, while Lucy Ronda cruised to a quick win in the eighth slot (11-5, 11-2, 11-5).
  • Aanvi Anand (#3) and Yu Ying Ng (#7) endured the longest battles. Anand outlasted her sister, Aanya Anand, in a four-game tilt (11-7, 11-6, 4-11, 11-4), while Ng dropped a close opening set by three points before winning 11-8, 11-7 and 11-6 to take the match.
  • The Panthers conceded two or fewer points in four games during the battle with the Cardinals.
NOTES
  • Burnham earned her 25th career victory.
  • The programs squared off for the 48th time with Middlebury owning a 41-7 edge in the all-time series, including 25 straight triumphs.
Middlebury is idle until its 2026 schedule begins on Friday, January 9 at home against Georgetown at 5:00 p.m.
