#16 Women’s Squash Blanks Hamilton To Tally Program’s 500th Win

Aanvi Anand earned a 3-0 triumph at #4.
The #16 Middlebury women's squash team began the new year with a 9-0 triumph at Hamilton. The victory marked the third-straight shutout for the Panthers and the program's 500th win.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Starting the squad out strong was Abbie Peterson in the eighth slot, surrendering just six points (11-3, 11-3, 11-0) to secure the first tally for Middlebury.
  • Madeline Schwarz followed with a three-game triumph at #6 (2, 4, 2) to put the Panthers up 2-0.
  • At the top of the ladder, Lindsey Burnham battled it out in three close games to grab an 11-6, 13-11, 11-6 victory.
  • Dropping just one point in each of her three games, Mariana Reedich earned a win at #7.
  • Clinching the match was Izzy Ronda, cruising to an 11-1, 11-0, 11-2 triumph in the fifth slot.
  • Abby Holding (4, 2, 6), Aanvi Anand (4, 4, 3) and Sabrina Schwarz (6, 9, 3) closed out the match with straight-game wins at #2, #4 and #3, respectively.
NOTES
  • The final point came via default in the ninth slot.
  • Reedich earned her 20th career win against just three losses.
  • The triumph was head coach Mark Lewis' 90th at the helm of the program.
  • Middlebury and Hamilton played for the 56th time as the Panthers improved to 47-9 in the series.
Middlebury continues its busy three-match weekend on Friday with a 2:00 p.m. start at #21 Dickinson.
