#16 Women’s Squash Falls to #11 Tufts At Home

The #16 Middlebury women's squash team fell 7-2 to #11 Tufts on Saturday in the Bostwick Family Squash Center.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Jumbos grabbed a quick 4-0 lead after securing wins at #9, #5, #1 and #3 slots.
  • Tufts clinched the match in the eighth spot with a 3-1 triumph. 
  • The first Panther victory came in the fourth position with Aanvi Anand defeating Riddhi Joshi in five games. Anand won the first two games before picking up the victory in the fifth match (11-8, 11-6, 10-12, 5-11, 11-5).
  • Abby Holding battled her opponent Sohni Vermani at the #2 spot, gaining the 2-1 advantage (16-18, 11-7, 11-6) before being forced to retire in the fourth game.
  • The Jumbos collected wins in the #7 and #6 positions to pick up the 7-2 triumph. 
NOTES
  • Anand claimed her 10th career win.
  • The programs played for the 39th time overall with Middlebury maintaining a 28-11 advantage in the all-time series.
The Panthers return to action on February 1 when they host Amherst at 1:00 p.m.
