#17 Middlebury Drops Home Contest To #11 Tufts

Theo Kogan competed at #6 on Saturday.
The 17th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team dropped a 7-2 decision on Saturday to #11 Tufts in the squad's first home match since December 7.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Jumbos raced out to a 5-0 advantage with victories at #1, #9, #5, #3 and #8. Caleb Boateng battled Jared Chin during a five-game match in the fifth slot.
  • Gabe Feinstein got Middlebury on the scoreboard with a narrow 11-9, 11-9, 14-12 triumph in the fourth spot.
  • Tufts pulled ahead 6-1 with a sweep at #2.
  • Charlie Clifford picked up the Panthers' second victory of the match with a three-game win in the seventh slot (11-7, 11-5, 12-10) over Rutva Samant.
  • The Jumbos secured a 3-1 victory at #6 for the final 7-2 score.
NOTES
  • In the exhibition match, David Zhao came back from a 2-1 deficit to earn an 11-9, 4-11, 7-11, 11-9, 12-10 triumph over Rohan Bhaita.
  • The programs played for the 13th time overall with Middlebury holding a 7-6 edge in the all-time series.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday when they entertain #16 Amherst at 1:00 p.m.
