Women’s Swimming & Diving Edged By Colby

Maddy Reid got the victory in the 50-yard backstroke.
The Middlebury women's swimming and diving team fell 157-141 at Colby. The Panthers posted six individual wins and one relay win.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The 200-yard medley relay team of Maddy Reid, Emma Hall, Chloe Bautista and Anna McGrew grabbed a second-place finish with a time of 1:48.78 in the first event of the day.
  • Chloe Katz posted a strong time of 10:37.05 to claim first in the 1000 freestyle.
  • Reid claimed the title in the 50 backstroke (27.62).
  • McGrew claimed a pair of wins in free events, clocking in at 23.97 in the 50 and 52.14 in the 100.
  • Middlebury claimed the top three spots in the 500 free. Katz finished in first at 5:15.09, while Reese Paison (5:17.12) and Sage Huddleston finished (5:19.65) second and third. 
  • Olivia Schwarz grabbed a win for the Panthers in the 200 individual medley, posting a time of 2:11.05.
  • In the final event of the meet, McGrew, Jane Cary, Bautista and Avery Maxwell collected a victory with a time of 1:38.84 in the free relay.
NOTES
  • Katz posted her second win in the 1000 free this season.
  • McGrew grabbed the 50 free for the second-consecutive meet after winning the event at the 2024 Bomber Invitational.
Middlebury is back in action on Sunday when it travels to Bates for an 11:00 a.m. start time.
