Women’s Cross Country Earns First Overall at Silloway Maple Syrup Challenge

Violet Ross Earned Fourth For the Panthers.
The #16 Middlebury women's cross country team opened the season by earning first place at the Silloway Maple Syrup Challenge. The Panthers swept the top-10 spots to tally just 15 points. Norwich (75 points) and Castleton (80 points) rounded out the podium.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Bea Parr took home the individual crown, placing first out of 56 runners with a time of 19:39.85.
  • Just 16 seconds behind was Audrey MacLean, stopping the clock at 19:55:55. 
  • Shea Fajen (20:12.02) and Violet Ross (20:30.62) secured third and fourth place, respectively.
  • Closing out the scoring with a fifth-place time of 20:34.67 was Amelia Gray.
NOTES
  • Parr's victory is the second of her career in a Panther uniform.
  • Saturday's triumph marks the seventh-consecutive season that the Panthers have won the Maple Syrup Team Challenge.
Middlebury returns to action on Saturday, hosting its annual Aldrich Invitational.
