13th-Ranked Panthers Runs To Second Place At Hoffmann Invitational

Middlebury had three runners in the top-10 spots.
The #13 Middlebury women's cross country team finished in second place at the Hoffmann Invitational. The Panthers had three runners in the top ten spots to finish with 36 points, while Queen's University (Canada) finished in first (25 points) and St. Lawrence completed the podium with 78 points.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Pacing the Middlebury squad for the second-consecutive week was Audrey MacLean who finished third overall with a time of 21:37.1. The Panther was the first individual from a team, as a pair of unattached runners claimed the top-two places.
  • Bea Parr posted a top-10 effort, finishing in sixth place with a clocking of 22:36.5 to earn four points. 
  • Placing eighth was Shea Fajen, recording a time of 23:21.4.
  • Next for the Panthers were MK Cestaro (23:50.0) and Caroline VanSchaick (24:00.6), finishing in 13th and 16th, respectively to close the scoring.
  • Victoria Fawcett and Amelia Gray crossed the finish line two seconds apart. Fawcett recorded a time of 24:03.5, while Gray was one second behind.
NOTES
  • The top-four runners were the same as opening week for Middlebury, with VanSchiack bursting into the scoring slots for the first time this season.
The Panthers return to action in two weeks when they compete at the Paul Short Run on Saturday, October 5.
