The Middlebury women’s soccer team begins its 2024 campaign on Wednesday, September 4 against Clark University.  The Panthers look to bring home the program’s fifth NESCAC Championship, having claimed the title twice in the last five seasons it was hosted.

Lucy Patton and Maddie Schin are two of the Panther’s top-returners on a defensive end that allowed the fourth-fewest goals in the NESCAC a season ago. Patton appeared in all 15 games with 12 starts, logging over 1,000 minutes of action. Schin, who took home second team All-NESCAC honors for the first time in her career, logged the second-most minutes (1,129) of any player in 13 starts. 

Gigi Day returns to highlight the midfield after becoming the first Panther in program history to earn NESCAC Rookie of the Year. Day led Middlebury with six goals and secured All-NESCAC Second Team honors last season. Sophia Cole looks to build off a solid 2023 campaign that included leading the Panthers in assists (four) over 14 games played.

Abby Ward saw action in all 15 games with 12 starts, netting two goals and adding three helpers. Ward capped the year with two assists in the season-finale against nationally-ranked Williams. Carolina Espinosa played in 11 games last season, including three starts during her rookie campaign. Ten newcomers will also suit up for the Panthers this season.

Kim returns for his 21st season at the helm of the Panthers with a 225-78-43 record. Kim is rejoined by assistant coaches Phoebe Martell-Crawford, Jorge Rojas, and Jon Hammond.
