Nordic Skiing Closes NCAA Championships With 20K Mass Start

Shea Brams finished 22nd at today's classic mass start.
The Middlebury nordic ski team concluded the NCAA Championships with the 20K classic mass start. Combined with the alpine squad, the Panthers finished in 10th place at this year's national competition, amassing 159 points. Colorado won the championship with 569.5 points, narrowly beating out runner-up Utah (567.5 points). Denver earned the bronze, accumulating 491 points. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Shea Brams led the way with a 22nd-place finish, clocking in at 1:06:56.9.
  • Maggie Wagner placed 37th with a time of 1:10:42.7.
  • On the men's side, Logan Moore was Middlebury's top finisher, skiing to 13th-place  (57:25.8).
  • Jack Christner was 35th, crossing the finish line in 1:01:40.5.
NOTES
  • Middlebury made its 64th appearance at the NCAA Championship, as the squad has made every tournament since 1967.
  • With a 10th place showing at this year's NCAA Championship, the Panthers have now finished in the top-10 in five-consecutive seasons.
  • In total, the alpine squad tallied 103 points, highlighted by a sixth-place finish by Mika-Anne Reha in the slalom. The nordic team recorded 56 points, with the highest team score coming during the 7.5K freestyle on Thursday.
