2024 Middlebury Women's Tennis Preview

The #4 Middlebury women’s tennis program starts the spring portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 9 against Bates. The Panthers advanced to the NESCAC Championship match for the sixth-consecutive season in 2023, and competed at the final site of the NCAA Championship for the eighth-straight year.

Sahana Raman returns for her third season, having played in the top singles spot last year, posting an impressive 19-7 record. Raman earned ITA All-American and All-NESCAC First-Team honors for her singles and doubles performances. A captain this year, Amy Delman was lauded with ITA All-American and All-NESCAC First-Team honors a year ago. Delman played at the top of the doubles lineup with Raman, as the pair finished the 2023 season with an unblemished 12-0 record. This past fall, Delman and Raman reached the final of the ITA Regional Tournament and qualified for the ITA Cup where they won their opening match.

Nathalie van der Reis finished last year with a remarkable 17-5 singles record, earning her a spot on the All-NESCAC Second Team. Van der Reis competed in the middle of the Panther lineup, recording a nine-match winning streak during the 2023 campaign.

Anna Lardner

Claudia Miller finished the spring with a 16-4 record in singles, owning a six-match winning streak in the middle of the season. Playing primarily in the third spot, Lulu Wu amassed a mark of 20-9 in singles play during her rookie campaign. Captain Gena Huang played doubles and singles a year ago, highlighted by clinching the regular-season win against Wesleyan to help the Panthers secure the top seed of the NESCAC Tournament. This past fall, Anna Lardner advanced to the quarterfinals at the ITA Regional Tournament and enters the spring with a 9-1 record.

Head coach Taka Bertrand returns for her second season and will be assisted by Aaron Diamond, who is in his first year with the Panthers.
