Chloe Katz finished seventh in Wednesday's 500-yard freestyle.
Chloe Katz of the #21 Middlebury women's swimming and diving team earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle on Wednesday at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. The championships are being hosted by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Seeded 14th nationally entering the meet in the 500 free, Katz touched the wall second in her preliminary trial heat with the eighth-quickest time of 4:56.62 to qualify for the evening's championship final.
- In the championship final, Katz battled throughout the closely-contested race and posted a seventh-place finish and season-best clocking of 4:55.79. That time shaved 0.83 seconds off of her preliminary time.
NOTES
- The All-American honor is the first of Katz's career.
- Katz's time in the championship final topped her previous season low by 0.57 seconds in the 500 free. Her previous time of 4:56.36 was established at the NESCAC Championships.
- Bengisu Caymaz of Kenyon won the national title in the event with a clocking of 4:48.65.
Katz returns to the pool on Thursday when she competes in the 200 free with preliminaries slated to begin at 10:00 a.m.
