The seventh-ranked Middlebury women's ice hockey team outshot #10 Norwich 43-18, but it was the Cadets that came away with a 4-1 victory that included an empty-net tally.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Norwich took a 1-0 edge with 6:15 expired in the opening period. Aimee Headland stole the puck from a Panther and broke away into the offensive zone, rifling a shot from between the circles for the short-handed tally.
- The Cadets made it 2-0 just over midway through the stanza. Lauren Tuzik sent a long pass to Taylor Girouard who beat a defender and slipped the puck past a sprawling Sophia Will.
- With 2:04 remaining in the period, the Panthers cut the deficit to one (2-1). Sabrina Kim sent a pass from the right pipe to Raia Schluter who flipped the puck under the crossbar.
- Middlebury owned the middle frame, manifesting the lone quality opportunity between either team. With 9:58 expired, Callia Ferraris zipped a pass from the left circle to the right where Britt Nawrocki was ready. Nawrocki made a move around a defender, but her shot was thwarted by Norwich goalie Leocadia Clark.
- The Panthers carried their dominant offensive pressure into the third stanza, and looked destined to tie up the game. Ferraris had a point-blank attempt during a power play at the 6:55 mark, but Clark denied the close-range effort. Schluter looked to tally her second goal with 9:04 elapsed, but her effort from the right dot hit the pipe and careened away.
- Midway through the stanza, Headland forced a turnover and skated into the offensive zone, before pinging her shot off the right pipe and into the goal to give the Cadets a the 3-1 lead.
- The Panthers pulled their goalie with 2:06 remaining, but Norwich tallied an empty-net goal for the 4-1 triumph.Â
