Reha Crowned EISA Slalom Champion On Day One Of Middlebury Carnival

The alpine squad celebrated Senior Day on Friday.
Mika-Anne Reha was crowned the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) Champion in the slalom on Friday at the Snowbowl. The Panther ski teams are hosting the EISA Championship in conjunction with the Middlebury Carnival. The University of Vermont sits atop the leaderboard with 472 points, followed by Dartmouth (464 points), the University of New Hampshire (343 points) and the Panthers (338 points). 
 
ALPINE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Reha was in second place after the first run, and blazed through her second trip down the mountain for a winning combined time of 1:41.04. The Panther was the only competitor to complete any run in under 50 seconds, clocking in at 49.86 seconds for her second trip.
  • Tatum Coutu placed 12th with a two-run time of 1:44.49, while Emma Hall was right behind in 13th place (1:44.75). 
  • On the men's side, Charlie Lang cracked the top-10, placing eighth with a combined clocking of 1:35.71.
  • Bradshaw Underhill was three spots back in 11th, completing his two strips with a time of 1:36.01.
  • Rounding out the scorers was Nicholas Unkovskoy who finished in 15th place (1:36.59).
NORDIC HIGHLIGHTS
  • In the 7.5K skate, Logan Moore paced the Panthers with a 10th-place effort (21:28.6).
  • Jack Christner (22:00.0) and Mason Wheeler (22:00.2) finished in 20th and 21st, respectively.
  • For the women's team, Sofia Scirica (26:22.3) and Shea Brams (26:24.7) placed 24th and 25th, respectively.
  • Maggie Wagner rounded out the scorers with a 29th-place effort, clocking in at 26:56.5.
NOTES
  • Today's victory marks the second-straight win for Reha, and fourth podium of the season.
  • Coutu's 12th-place finish was her best this year. 
  • Will Trudeau placed 22nd in the men's slalom, which was his highest finish this season.
  • The alpine team celebrated Alexandra Cossette, Coutu, Hall, Lang, Holden Parazette, Nina Reichhelm, and Trudeau for Senior Day. 
 
The Panther ski teams are back in action on Saturday morning. The alpine team begins at 9:00 a.m. with the men's giant slalom first run at the Snowbowl, while the nordic squad kicks off the mass start at 10:00 a.m. at the Rikert Outdoor Center.
