The 13th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team battled to the end, but fell 5-4 to #16 Williams in the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championship Kurtz Cup Semifinals.
HIGHLIGHTS
- At #9, Madeline Schwarz and Nora Brant traded 11-8 victories, before Schwarz claimed two-straight games (11-7, 11-5) to give the Panthers a 1-0 edge.
- In the second slot, Sabrina Schwarz and Melanie Wang traded identical scores of 11-8 and 12-10 to force a fifth and deciding game. Wang outlasted Schwarz 11-7 to knot the contest at 1-1.
- The Ephs took a 3-1 advantage with wins at #6 and #7, respectively.
- Tied at 1-1 in the third spot, Izzy Ronda battled back to claim two-consecutive triumphs (11-6, 11-4) to cut the Middlebury deficit to one (3-2).
- Williams increased its advantage to 4-2 with a close five-game win at #5.
- The Panthers dug deep, claiming back-to-back victories to deadlock the match at 4-4. Mariana Reedich earned a close sweep (13-11, 11-9, 12-10) at #8, before Lindsey Burnham won 3-1 at the top of the ladder.
- The match came down to the competition in the fourth slot. Tied at 1-1, Theresa Kay earned a pair of wins to edge Abby Holding and secure the 5-4 victory for the Ephs.

- Middlebury and Williams played for the 61st time.
- The last three meetings have been 5-4 decisions, with the Panthers claiming the regular-season match this year and the Ephs winning in 2022.
- M. Schwarz's victory was her sixth-straight, as she leads the team with 18 total victories this year (18-1).
- Middlebury's 14 wins are the most in a season since 2014-15.
