The 18th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team fell to #15 University of Rochester 6-3 on Friday afternoon in the College Squash Association (CSA) Hoehn Cup Quarterfinals.Â

HIGHLIGHTS
- Rochester claimed the first point with a win in the top spot of the ladder.Â
- David Zhao leveled the match at 1-1 with an 11-5, 11-6, 11-8 triumph at #8.
- The Yellowjackets recorded the next three points with a four-game victory in the fourth slot, a sweep at #2 and a back-and-forth five-game win in the ninth position for a 4-1 advantage.
- The Panthers pulled to within 4-2 when PK Keller triumphed in four games (11-8, 8-11, 11-3, 11-5) at #6.Â
- Rochester clinched the match with a victory in the third slot, and made it 6-2 with a win in the seventh position.Â
- Kian Kardestuncer wrapped up the match, tallying an 11-4, 12-10, 11-6 victory in the middle of the ladder for the final 6-3 score.
NOTES
- The Panthers are making their 16th appearance at the championships and secured a spot in the Hoehn Cup for the fourth time overall and first since the 2016 season.
- Middlebury posted its best finishes in 2011 and 2012 when the squad earned 14th place.
- The Panthers and the Yellowjackets met for just the third time and first time since the 2013-14 season with Rochester winning all three contests.
- Friday's match was the first meeting in postseason play between the programs.
 The Panthers will play in the consolation bracket on Saturday against #14 Colby at 6:30 p.m. Â
