Kenary & Perry Earn AFCA All-American Laurels

Kenary and Perry earned AFCA All-American honors.
Tomás Kenary and Thomas Perry of the Middlebury football team have been named to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American squads. Perry earns his initial nod with a spot on the first-team offense, while Kenary grabs his second-straight laurel on the defensive side. 
 
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Perry (First Team)
    • Perry earns all-american honors for the first time in his career. 
    • The senior was tabbed to the All-NESCAC First Team Offense for the third-conseuctive year.
    • The offensive lineman started every game this season and was named to the New England Football Writers All-New England Team.
    • Prior to the start of the year, Perry was tabbed to the prestigious Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List. He was one of just two Division III players to earn a spot on the list, and one of 11 non-Division I players.
    • The Panther had dozens of NFL scouts at practices and games this fall after garnering national attention this summer following a two-week stint at OL Masterminds Training in Texas. 
  • Kenary (Third Team)
    • Kenary becomes just the third Panther to earn the honor twice in the navy in white, joining John M. Kirk (1936, 1938) and Hall of Famer Beau Coash '82 (1980, 1981).
    • The senior earned All-NESCAC accolades for the fourth time in his career, garnering a first-team nod for the third-straight year.
    • Kenary solidified his name in the record books this season, as he leaves owning career marks in sacks (30), sack yardage (227), tackles for loss (51) and TFL yardage (267). 
    • The Panther reached the 100 career solo tackles plateau this fall, running his overall mark to 158 (102 solo).
    • He paced the squad in TFL this year with 11.0, while tying teammate Dave Filias with 5.5 sacks.
The D3football.com All-Region and All-American awards will be announced in the coming weeks.
