The #3 Middlebury women's ice hockey team skated past Wesleyan 6-0 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Panthers complete their second-straight NESCAC weekend sweep and improve to 4-0-0 on the year.
HIGHLIGHTS

- The first power-play of the game came at the 13:51 mark and the Panthers took advantage. Alison Giebler sent a pass from the right dot to Britt Nawrocki on the left side of the crease. Nawrocki one-timed the bid and the puck skirted around the inside of the crossbar for the 1-0 edge.
- The Giebler-Nawrocki duo looked to double the advantage with 5:23 elapsed in the middle frame. An initial bid by Nawrocki was thwarted by goalie Sami Smith before the rebound attempt from Giebler pinged off the pipe.
- Middlebury took a 2-0 lead at the 12:40 mark following a flurry of shots on goal. Avery McInerny, Cat Appleyard and Sabrina Kim fired second-chance bids at Smith, but it was Jordan Hower who poked the puck in for the two-goal advantage.
- Wesleyan had a good chance to cut the deficit in half with 36 ticks left in the second stanza, but Effie Tournas tip-in attempt from point-blank went just wide.
- The Panthers came out strong in the third period, tallying four goals. The initial goal came with just 42 seconds off the clock as Olivia Gordon wrapped around the goal and stuffed the puck inside the right pipe for the 3-0 lead.
- Midway through the frame during a power-play, Kate Flynn one-timed a feed from Kim to extend the advantage to 4-0.
- Middlebury extended the lead to 5-0 at the 11:42 mark. Olivia McManus' bid from just inside the blue line was blocked by a Cardinal defender, but the puck richocheted and fell behind the goalie.
- The Panthers capped the scoring frenzy with 12:34 elapsed when Cece Ziegler rifled the puck from the top of the left faceoff circle into the goal for the 6-0 triumph.
