Tucker Jakobe shaved nearly 20 seconds off his personal best.
For the fourth-straight year, the #17 Middlebury men's cross country team finished in third place at the NCAA Mideast Championship. Claiming the title was #7 Renesslaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with 29 points, while #14 Williams was second (76 points), followed by the Panthers (119 points).

HIGHLIGHTS
- Middlebury had three runners finish in the top-20. Ziggy Goddard led the group with a clocking of 24:57.8 which was good for 13th. Benjamin Hughes followed with a 17th-place effort at 25:05.8, while Drew Donahue earned 20th with a time of 25:09.0.
- In a dash to the finish line, Tucker Jakobe and Harry Griff paced each other. Jakobe clocked in at 25:32.5 (34th), while Griff crossed the line in 25:35.1 (35th).
- Also finishing in the top-50 was Cameron Miles in 46th (26:03.9) and Shef West in 49th (26:11.9).Â
NOTES
- Jakobe's time was a personal best, shaving nearly 20 seconds off his previous time.
- RPI knocked off the Ephs, who had previously claimed three-consecutive regional crowns.
The top team from each of the 10 regions automatically qualifies for the NCAA Championship with 22 additional teams earning at-large bids. The first seven runners from each region who are not part of a qualifying team will be selected to participate for a total of 70 additional individuals. The entire field will be released by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17 at ncaa.com.
