The Middlebury men’s swimming and diving team begins its 2024-25 campaign on Saturday, November 23 when it hosts Connecticut College. 

The Panthers welcome back a strong group of returners to the pool deck. Senior captain Samuel Hughes continued to impress in 2023-24, earning his second All-NESCAC nod after grabbing a runner-up finish in the 200-yard backstroke at the conference championship. Hughes had 11 podiums combined in the 100 and 200 back during his junior year.

Luke McNamara looks to build off a sophomore season after securing gold in six individual events, including the 1,650 freestyle and 400 individual medley (IM) against Bates. Jack Undercofler brings another veteran presence, helping guide Middlebury’s top 200 medley relay team to five top-three placings a year ago. The Panther also collected four individual podium showings in backstroke events. 

Owen White and Henry Wang look to spring into another season off the boards this year. White excelled in his second campaign, recording 12 podium finishes, including sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter against Bates. Wang returns after earning sixth in the 1-meter at the Middlebury Invitational.

Rueppel begins his 14th season at the helm of the program. He is joined by new assistant coach Emily Daniels while diving coach Bradley Schott returns after being named the NESCAC Co-Diving Coach of the Year last winter.
