Box Score Neel Epstein of the fifth-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team posted solid results at the ITA Cup, highlighted by a victory on Friday. The four-day event was held at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• During Thursday's action, Epstein fell in straight sets to Emory's Efe Comu by scores of 6-1, 6-4.
• In the consolation bracket on Friday, Epstein grabbed the opening set against Gustavus Adolphus' Marco Siviero by a 6-3 tally. Siverio leveled the match with a 6-2 triumph in the second before Epstein advanced with a 7-5 victory in the decisive stanza.
• Epstein's final match of the weekend came against Johns Hopkins' Chakor Sankaran Rajendra. The Panther recorded a 6-3 win in the opening set, but  Sankaran Rajendra recorded a 6-4 decision in the second. The Blue Jay edged Epstein by the same 6-4 tally in the decisive set.

NOTES

• Epstein became the eighth player in program history to compete in the ITA Cup in singles.

Epstein and the rest of the Panthers close their fall schedule on the road on October 26-27 at the BU Invite in Boston.
