Neel Epstein represented the Panthers at the ITA Cup in Georgia.
Box Score Neel Epstein of the fifth-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team posted solid results at the ITA Cup, highlighted by a victory on Friday. The four-day event was held at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
HIGHLIGHTS
- During Thursday's action, Epstein fell in straight sets to Emory's Efe Comu by scores of 6-1, 6-4.
- In the consolation bracket on Friday, Epstein grabbed the opening set against Gustavus Adolphus' Marco Siviero by a 6-3 tally. Siverio leveled the match with a 6-2 triumph in the second before Epstein advanced with a 7-5 victory in the decisive stanza.
- Epstein's final match of the weekend came against Johns Hopkins' Chakor Sankaran Rajendra. The Panther recorded a 6-3 win in the opening set, but Sankaran Rajendra recorded a 6-4 decision in the second. The Blue Jay edged Epstein by the same 6-4 tally in the decisive set.
NOTES
- Epstein became the eighth player in program history to compete in the ITA Cup in singles.
