#20 Men’s Squash Cruises Past Hamilton 8-1

Kian Kardestuncer earned his 15th career victory during today's match.
The 20th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team cruised past Hamilton 8-1 on Tuesday evening. The Panthers equaled their best-ever start to a season, moving to 6-0 with the victory.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Theo Kogan kicked off the match with a straight-game win (11-8, 11-8, 11-3) at #3.
  • Charlie Clifford (#9) and Gabe Thin (#6) each dropped their opening games, but bounced back to claim four-game comeback triumphs and give Middlebury a 3-0 edge.
  • Kian Kardestuncer increased the advantage to 4-0 with a sweep (11-3, 11-5, 11-8) in the fourth spot.
  • In the eighth slot, Alex Stimpson clinched the match, easing to a straight-game victory (11-6, 11-4, 11-6).
  • The Continentals got on the board with a win at #2. 
  • David Zhao (#7) and PK Keller (#5) each topped their opponents in three games, while Nathan Feinstein closed the contest with a 7-11, 11-5, 11-1, 11-2 triumph at the top of the ladder to give the Panthers the 8-1 win.
NOTES
  • Alexis Ballo cruised to victory in the exhibition match (11-5, 11-3, 11-2).
  • Clifford, Stimpson, Thin and Zhao each remain undefeated on the season.
  • Kardestuncer secured his 15th career win during the triumph.
  • The programs squared off for the 21st time with Middlebury holding a decided 18-3 advantage. The Panthers have won the last 17 matchups dating back to the start of the 2009-10 season.
Middlebury will return to the court when it host Colby on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
