#20 Panthers Ease Past #19 Diplomats For Three-Match Weekend Sweep

Stimpson remains unbeaten this year, improving to 5-0.
The #20 Middlebury men's squash team eased past #19 Franklin & Marshall 6-3 to complete a three-match weekend sweep and improve to 5-0 overall.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers got out to a 2-0 advantage with straight-game triumphs from #9 Alex Stimpson (11-3, 11-5, 11-3) followed by #6 PK Keller (14-12, 11-2, 11-6).
  • David Zhao extended the lead to 3-0 with a three-game sweep (11-9. 11-5, 11-7) in the eighth spot.
  • The Diplomats cut into the deficit with a 3-0 win at #4.
  • Middlebury clinched the match with back-to-back victories. Gabe Thin cruised to a 3-0 triumph at #7, while Caleb Boateng secured a 3-1 win (11-8, 11-13, 13-11, 11-6) to put the Panthers up 5-1. 
  • Franklin & Marshall grabbed another point in the second slot, but Kian Kardestuncer battled for a point at #5, edging his opponent 3-2.
  • The Diplomats closed out the contest with a point at the top of the ladder for the 6-3 final score. 
NOTES
  • Keller's win was the 35th in his career.
  • Stimpson (5-0), Thin (5-0) and Zhao (4-0) remain unbeaten this season.
  • Charlie Clifford won the exhibition match, improving to 5-0. 
The Panthers continue NESCAC play on Tuesday when they host #27 Hamilton at 4:00 p.m.
